Musical Crayons....Oh What Fun!

Our theme in the classroom is FRIENDSHIP.
I read the story "The Crayon Box That Talked"  then we played a game of "musical crayons!"
I gave each student a piece of paper and one crayon.
When the music played, they colored a picture.
When the music stopped, they would raise their hand.
The students would pass their crayon to the friend on their right.

This activity was a fun way to reinforce adding color to their drawings
and adding more detail to their picture!

They all did a great job and had some cute, colorful pictures!

Sentence Building

Help kids practice building sentences by MAKING IT FUN!

We recently got Smartboards in our classroom.
I know...right!?!
They have this "Infinite Cloner" button and
I will be using it A LOT!

The students had to work together to build a sentence
for their friends to read.

We discussed the importance of
"reading the sentence back to yourself!"
I saw this idea about 5 years ago at a conference.
The students LOOOVE it!

This is a GREAT video to share with the students
about writing a sentence.
Anytime that you add a "SONG"...I believe,
you will increase their excitement to learn!
